Just want to congratulate you for winning the CNN Hero of the Year and for putting the Filipinos and the noble Filipino teachers on the map of success around the globe. You truly deserve it and my hats off to your team too.
I wish I could help, by volunteering (since I am a teacher too) or by donating, I have good books which I am willing to give away.
Just want to share, we graduated the same year (but from different schools) and we took and passed the Licensure exams the same year too. I have to open my Bulletin Today copy of LET passers and saw your name there... hahaha.. so nice to have a hero in my batch!!!
More power and may heroism in us all prosper, so we can help more children in need.

i trully inspired to your determination na makatulong sa mga kabataang hindi nabigyan ng pagkakataong makapag-aral..
sana dumami p ang katlad mo..at ako ay nakiki-isa sa'yo at sa iyong grupo..

Kudos to Efren Penaflorida for winning the CNN Hero of the Year (I voted for you online!hehe). I read about you in an article before you became a nominee and I was really inspired by your humble beginnings. So when a batchmate of mine forwarded the online voting, I didn't hesitate to participate because I believe that you really deserve to be one.
Also,I'd like to congratulate your team, the volunteers who gave their precious time,tremendous effort and unconditional love to their brothers and sisters in need. May God continuously bless your good cause,and keep up the good work!!!

Hi Efren:
First, I would like to congratulate you for winning the CNN Hero of the Year. Your noble projects helping to improve the conditions of people through providing education and saving them from contributing additional social ills and burden to the community, with limited resources you have truly touched me. Keep up the good work.
Second, I will be in the Philippines next year, maybe sometime in February. With my limited stay in the area, I would like to volunteer to teach the students in English and Mathematics. I can bring some resources of reading, writing, and mathematics that we can photocopy for student use to develop their grammatical, writing, and computational skills. So if you can round up students to participate and if you can plan ahead, that would be most beneficial.
